Please join the Philomathean Society in welcoming Mitchell Anderson’s “Popular Permutations” to the Art Gallery during our opening gala.

Mitchell, born in Chicago in 1985, currently lives in Switzerland and spends periods in Marfa, Texas. He produces embroidery, paintings and sculpture in abundance. His instillation explores ideas of abstract change by distortion of form, context, and place. Come experience a play on popular ideas of the gloomy, the exciting, the sexy and the scary altered such that they become indistinguishable from one another.
