Meleis is the Margaret Bond Simon Dean of Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, Professor of Nursing and Sociology, and Director of the School’s WHO Collaborating Center for Nursing and Midwifery Leadership.</p>
<p>Dr. Meleis’ scholarship is focused on global health, immigrant and international health, women’s health, and on the theoretical development of the nursing discipline. She is the author of more than 175 articles in social sciences, nursing, and medical journals; over 40 chapters; 7 books; and numerous monographs and proceedings.</p>

<p>Arthur Waldron is the Lauder Professor of International Relations in the Department of History at the University of Pennsylvania. His specialties are the history of China and Eurasia, and the history of war and violence. At Penn he is an associate of ISTAR—the Institute for Strategic Threat Assessment and Response—and has been associated with the Solomon Asch Institute for the Study of Ethnopolitical Conflict.</p>

Dr. Blaze is an associate professor in the CIS department. He received his Ph.D from Princeton in 1993. Dr. Blaze&#8217;s interests include secure systems and cryptology, trust management, and technology and public policy. His work has led to several new cryptographic concepts, including &#8216;Remotely-Keyed Encryption&#8217; and &#8216;Master-Key Encryption.&#8217; This work spans many systems, including protocols for safeguarding Internet data traffic, as well as analyzing practical attacks against master-keyed mechanical locks.</p>
<p>Dr. Blaze is also interested in public policy related to encryption, including the security of e-voting machines, the function of the FBI&#8217;s &#8216;Carnivore&#8217; wiretap system, and the &#8216;Clipper encryption system&#8217; proposed as a system that would be encrypted from the general public but readable by law enforcement officials. Because of his expertise, he has testified before several committees of the US Congress and European Parliament.</p>
