That would be Cleats & Beats." Write your own poem, bring your favorite anthology, or emulate your favorite poet. SEPTEMBER 29, WEDNESDAY 9:00PM I PHILOMATHEAN LIBRARY ------------------------------------------------------ SOLISTIMUM!!! SOLISTIMUM!!! SOLISTIMUM!!! Your fabulous presence is requested for the first Solistimum of the semester. Please join the Philomathean Society, Penn's oldest student group, for a stimulating evening of conversation in which you set the boundaries. Don't miss the premier social gathering on campus, set amongst the backdrop of the one-of-a-kind Philo Library. Come as you are or as you want to be; a Solistimum is not to be missed! This is worth that last can of soda in your fridge, that last whole chip in your Doritos bag, that last pair of clean socks in your drawer, and putting your homewrok off till the wee hours of Monday morning. I promise. OCTOBER 1, FRIDAY 5:00PM I PHIRST PHRIDAY AT PHILO --------------------------------------------------- Every first friday of the month, the art galleries in old city open up for free in the evenings and masses of people roam around the area looking at art, pretending to look at art, eating free hors d'oeuvres, and being artsy-intellectual. Black turtleneck not required. This is always *the* cultural event of the evening and a must-see for those who have never been. OCTOBER 1, FRIDAY 8:00PM I PHILOMATHEAN HALLS --------------------------------------------- The color is black, the mood is mellow and the theme is JAZZ. It is with great pleasure and immense excitement that I invite you to the 2nd General Meeting of the 383rd Session of the Philomathean Society. So, bring your cello and take that harmonica out of your closet. Bust out the guitar and those suspenders just dying to see the light of day. This is the one time when wearing sunglasses at night is COOL. In fact, it is encouraged. 'Krall' it up people. OCTOBER 3, SUNDAY 2:00PM I NORBP TRIP ------------------------------------- Bring a camera with one roll of film (or a disposable camera). The actual excursion will last exactly an hour + approximately 30 minutes of travel time to and fro. Photography background/skills not a pre-req. Do not ask what"NORBP" means. Just go. Meet at 36th and Locust Street. PIKIR! ..... So this week, you get to think about anything you want. Yes, that's right, ANYTHING! [Insert thought here.] Indeed, feel free to share.
